KTLA 5

Local news for Southern California

KTLA 5 is a News & Magazines app from Nexstar Inc. for people who want reporting focused on the Los Angeles area rather than a broad national feed. It covers Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties, with access to local stories, traffic information, weather updates, and video coverage.

Live coverage and alerts

The app includes live access to KTLA programming and other video content, making it useful when you want to follow a developing story as it happens. Breaking-news notifications can bring urgent local updates to your phone, including reports about public safety and major regional events.

Weather and daily planning

Weather tools include radar views and severe-weather alerts. These features are aimed at practical decisions such as checking conditions before a commute or following changing conditions during storms and fire-related events. The coverage is most relevant to Southern California users who need local detail instead of general forecasts.
